When the Beds n Dreams store in Fortitude Valley Brisbane needed an upgrade, they knew just who to call. After completing similar works in their stores located in Aspley, Penrith, Atarmon and Castle Hill, our expert team at CMLS Commercial Interiors were well-equipped for the task at hand.
Works commenced on the 3rd of May 2022 at the Fortitude Valley store, located in the Brisbane CBD. Starting with a full strip out of the entire store, resulting in a back to base building. Back to base building refurbishments are a lot of work, yet also enjoyable because we get to strip everything out and start with a blank canvass. It’s always a good option as this allows room for the mot creativity and flexibility, without being restricted by any pre-existing structures or boundaries in place.
We then moved on to installing new full height plasterboard and low height plasterboard partitioning. Full height partitioning occupies the space from the floor to the ceiling creating a complete space divider for privacy or purpose-built spaces like offices and other rooms. Low height plasterboard partitioning allows for some privacy without completely closing off spaces.
After this, we freshly painted all the walls, doors, ceilings and exposed open services areas. All new carpet, vinyl flooring was installed throughout the store too. Once that was complete, we installed new electrical wiring and a complete all new lighting upgrade throughout the entire site. Lighting design is very important for retail store interior fit outs. Did you know that having the right lighting can entice customers to enter your store, and determine how long they might remain in your store? When customers can clearly see and navigate through your store with ease, it helps guide their purchase decisions. Lighting should always be adequate without being too bright, as you do not want to create a harsh ambience in your store. For this fit out, we selected a range of lighting options that drew attention to various products while giving the store an attractive and pleasant ambience.
We finished off this project with an all-new reception area and joinery throughout the store. Having a clearly defined and inviting reception area allows customers to learn more about your store while waiting for someone to meet them. Having a welcoming atmosphere will have a positive impact on customers and employees alike.
The refurbishment was completed on the 27th May 2022, just over 3 weeks from the initial commencement. This was a big project to complete in a short amount of time. With the right planning in place, and our expert team on hand, we were able to deliver to our client’s satisfaction.
