As well as working hard on our own projects, CMLS Commercial Interiors is delighted to contract our services where required to other commercial fit-out companies, delivering exceptional results for their clients just as we do for our own.
An example of us providing contractor services on behalf of another shopfitter is the job we recently completed on Specsavers Plumpton Marketplace in NSW. Our direct client was a Melbourne-based fit-out company, and we completed the work on this project on their behalf, delivering for Specsavers under their umbrella.
As such, this was not CMLS Commercial Interiors’ project; we did, however, work on almost every aspect of the project and we were onsite seven days a week for its duration.
The Project…
Specsavers is an international optical company based in Guernsey and it has a robust Australian presence, providing vision testing and eyewear. Many locations also offer audiology services. Operational internationally for more than thirty-five years, Specsavers is known for providing high-quality world-class solutions at affordable prices and with exceptional customer service.
Plumpton Marketplace is a community shopping centre in Western Sydney. Situated in the City of Blacktown LGA, it is located just over halfway between Parramatta and Penrith. The centre offers the community a Woolworths supermarket, Big W store, a medical centre, professional office spaces, and numerous retailers and other services.
We were hired to undertake the complete demolition of the existing Specsavers store space, as well as the neighbouring premises, and create and fit out a bigger Specsavers store.
Our Commercial De-Fit & Fit-Out Job…
Works commenced on May 8th, 2023. They included:
- Entire de-fit and demolition of the existing Specsavers store.
- Entire de-fit and demolition of the existing Strandbags store next door to enable the creation of a larger Specsavers space.
- New shopfront with percaline tile and aluminium framed finishes
- New bulkheads
- New plumbing and mechanical installations
- New flooring/carpet/vinyl/ceramic tiles
- New electrical installations including lighting fixtures
- New ceilings/partitions/doors
- New joinery throughout
- New painting throughout
- New sound-rated Audiology room for hearing tests
- New vision testing consultation room
- New signage and digital displays
- New furniture
- New product display units
- Fire safety services
- Concertina main doors
- And much more!
This project was an enormous undertaking, with our team working twelve-to-fifteen-hour days, seven days a week, for the duration of the project. It involved close collaboration with our Melbourne-based fit-out company client, and liaising with, managing, and working with every trade available to deliver the exceptional results we are always so proud of.
The final push for store handover on June 5th saw us complete an epic 21-hour workday to get the project over the line and certified on schedule for the store to reopen on June 7th.
The new retail and health service space is modern, light, bright, and open, as well as being on-brand for Specsavers – a very stylish commercial fit-out project that we were thrilled to deliver.
